Pre-Departure Resources

Know Before You Go

The New York City Scholars team will host a virtual “Know Before You Go” webinar. This event is one of the last touchpoints students will have prior to departing for New York City in the fall. All students will be required to attend the virtual event live, or view a recording prior to their departure.

You can also view the Know Before You Go Document here. Please note that this document will be updated as we get closer to arrival and will be emailed to students and parents.

If you have any questions about Pre-Departure Orientation, please email [email protected].

Program Policies

Payment and Withdrawal Policy

The program is required to make advance financial commitments to travel agents, vendors, and the partner institution to secure items such as housing, classroom space, and co-curricular activities. Therefore, should a student withdraw from the program at any time after May 1, they will be responsible for the terms provided within the Payment and Withdrawal Policy.

Students are encouraged to plan carefully and are required to review this policy as soon as possible. In this policy is information on payment terms, schedule of charges, and withdrawal conditions and processes.

Acknowledgment of Responsibility and Liability Waiver

Available in the student’s Application Status Check, the Acknowledgement of Responsibility and Liability waiver outlines the responsibilities and expectations associated with participation in the program and addresses important matters concerning student safety and well-being during the program.
