Curriculum

Courses offered through the New York City Scholars program align with the first-year curriculum across Northeastern’s network and integrate cultural learning opportunities. Each NYC Scholars class that students take will fulfill any major requirements and/or NUPath attributes (our institution-wide general education requirements for students in all majors).

Students in NYC Scholars will take a full year’s worth of classes, including those required for their major as well as elective courses that may span across a range of disciplines. Students may be able to select alternate courses if they receive advanced credits from AP, IB, or other international examinations. Please note that not all first-year Northeastern courses will have equivalents offered through NYC Scholars.

Academic Resources

  • Academic advising

NYC Scholars will have the support of an academic advisor while on the program. They will be in contact with scholars throughout the duration of the program. For questions on academic advising please contact [email protected].

  • Academic handbook

For information on academic policies and processes we recommend reviewing the NYC Scholars Academic Handbook.

Summer Courses

NYC Scholars are able to participate in summer courses after their time in the program. Information will be shared on specific opportunities later this spring.
